Stacey English death ruled accidental

Stacey English's death by exposure ruled accidental

ATLANTA (WXIA) -- The Fulton County Medical Examiner said Tuesday afternoon that autopsy results showed Stacey English's death was an accident.
Her mother had suspected that English had been the victim of foul play.

But the medical examiner's office said there was no evidence of injury or drug overdose. She had "underlying neurlogical and psychiatric disorders" complicated by her exposure to cold, according to the medical examiner's report.

"Because cold exposure is an external, environmental condition, the manner of death has been classified as accident."

English disappeared December 26th. Her decomposed body was found on January 23, near Lakewood Amphitheater -- several miles from her Lenox Road condo. Her body was found less than a mile from where her Volvo had been found almost a month earlier, with its engine running.

Her father, Tony English, told 11Alive News Tuesday afternoon he was not ready to comment on the medical examiner's report.

Her mother and step-father, Cindy and Kevin Jamison, have not yet returned phone messages.

Here is the entire statement from the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office, released at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 14, 2012:
The most likely cause of Stacey English's death is cold exposure (hypothermia) complicating underlying neurological and psychiatric disorders. Because cold exposure is an external, environmental condition, the manner of death has been classified as accident.
