Whitney Houston Dead at 48....

One of the greatest to ever do it......

Wow,  Whitney Houston is gone.  I was at a Easter Seals Fashion Show getting some footage for IndiependenceTV when Monica Pearson of Channel 2 Action News (Atlanta, Ga.) got on the microphone and broke the news.  Man, we're still trying to get over the lost of Don Cornelius.  I think for many people it's like losing a sister, or a aunt.  It's tragic for her family, friends and for all of her fans.  It's  hard to believe someone with such a big spirit, and presence has been silenced.  I think when someone that everybody looks up to passes away, it makes you do some soul searching.  I once had a telephone conversation with Whitney Houston back when I was living in Los Angeles.  A good friend of mine was dating her god daughter and they were having a disagreement.  Some how I got handed the phone and it was Whitney Houston on the other end.  She talked to me like she had known me for years and I was bugging that I was even speaking to her.  I think it's hard for someone to be on top and then have their career decline.  Could it be possible that the internet and social media may have had a small part in her death.  The reason why I say that is because back in the day artist could rise to fame and then once their career faded, they could slowly drift back into society.  Now everybody is paparazzi, taking pictures and pressing record.  I just saw a picture on the internet a couple of days ago where they had Whitney coming out of the club bleeding, supposedly from trying to slit her wrist.  Whether it was true or not, it was put out there for the world to see.  I guess people taking these pictures don't really think how this must make the person on the receiving end feel.  My point being, there's know privacy anymore.  I keep saying, it's the gift and the curse. The music industry has definitely lost one of the greatest voices of all time.  From the staff of IndiependenceTV our condolences go out to her family and may her soul REST IN PEACE.

 (I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU)
